When we talk about two countries we will always favor one of them especially if one of them is the country we were born in. My case is exactly the same but I also really like Turkey because when I visited it, it made me feel like I was at home and welcomed everywhere. Both countries are beautiful with all theirs similarities and differences. Turkey is larger than Serbia and has more inhabitants. It spreads over two contents, Europe and Asia, whilst Serbia is situated on Balkan, Europe. Turkey has sea and beautif Bosfor but Serbia, who doesn’t have enter to the sea, is full of impressive rivers and lakes. When we talk about differences between them, the first thing we can see is religion. Most of the Turkish inhabitants are muslims, which can prove all those beautiful mosques that made Turkey famous all around the World. On the other hand, Serbs are mostly Orthodox Christians. Serbia, the country whose monasteries and churches have rich history and hard meaning for all Serbian people. Alphabet and language are different. Serbian national letter is Cyrillic whilst Turkey does not have that kind of letter. In Turkey, brides on the weddings are supposed to wear a red wedding dress ( it was a very usual custom before). The opposite is wearing beautiful, white wedding dresses characteristic for Serbia.
When we talk about Turkey, the contrast between rich and poor people is so visible. On the one side, there is houses made of gold, expensive cars and all those luxury things. Yes, there is also a difference between classes in Serbia but it is not that much visible. Turkey governed over Serbia for a lot of centuries. Then, it was not Turkey, it was The Ottoman Empire and it left a lot of its customs in Serbia. Serbs and Turks are both obsessed with Turkish coffee. Sarma, famous traditional dish in Serbia is actually Turkish dish but they usually call it “dolma”. Turkish words as tea, pillow, spoon and many others are used in everyday conversation in Serbia. Traditional denses, which are typical for every event, are also so similar. Both of them are republics. Serbia has some difficulties about Kosovo as Turkey who also has some political issues with Greece about territory. I would never replace living in another country because Serbia is the most beautiful country for me. But, I would like and I would never miss the opportunity to go again to Turkey, explore it and relax in its beauties.
